Pack Tab
The Pack tab is your packing checklist. Items are grouped into categories so you can see at a glance what still needs to go in the car.
Adding items
Tap the + button to open the add-item form. Each item requires:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | What you are packing |
| Category | Yes | One of the four categories below |
| Notes | No | Any extra detail (e.g. "bottom of crate 1") |
| Needs purchase | No | Creates a linked item in the Shop tab |
Categories
Items are grouped by category in a fixed order:
- Food — perishables and pantry items
- Cooler — anything going in the cooler
- Gear — equipment, tools, and supplies
- Container — items stored in specific containers
Within each group, items are sorted alphabetically.
Marking items as packed
Tap the checkbox to mark an item as packed. The status does not affect the item's position in the list — it stays in its category group and alphabetical slot so you can unpack and repack without losing context.
Purchase linking
Tick Needs purchase when adding an item to create a corresponding entry in the Shop tab with a purple Pack pill. Once you buy the item and tick it off in Shop, a green Purchased badge appears here so you know the shopping is done.
When you delete a pack item, the linked shop item is removed automatically to keep the two lists in sync.
Trips
Pack lists are scoped to the active trip. The current trip name is shown in the tab header — tap it to open the Trip Switcher and select a different trip or create a new one. Each trip maintains its own independent packing list.
See Trips for full details on creating, switching, and archiving trips.
Pack or Pass
After a trip, open Settings → Pack or Pass to review which items you didn't actually need. Mark an item as Did not use during last trip in its edit modal — the item then appears on the Pack or Pass page.
The Pack or Pass page lists items grouped first by trip (default trip shown first, then others alphabetically), and then by category within each trip. Gear items from the Gear tab follow below, grouped by container.
Use this review to decide whether to hide or permanently remove items that never get used, keeping future packing lists lean.
