Trips
Trips let you keep separate Pack, Eat, and Shop lists for each camping trip you plan. Instead of clearing and rebuilding a single list every time you head out, you create a named trip and switch between trips instantly — your data for each one is preserved independently.
Gear is global
The Gear tab is your permanent equipment inventory and is shared across all trips. Only Pack, Eat, and Shop lists are scoped to the active trip.
The default trip
Every installation starts with a General trip. It is the fallback trip that is always available and cannot be archived or renamed. If you only ever plan one trip at a time, you can use General exclusively and ignore the Trips feature entirely.
Switching trips
A trip-name button appears in the header of the Pack, Eat, and Shop tabs. Tapping it opens the Trip Switcher popover, which shows all active trips. The currently selected trip has a checkmark next to it. Tap any other trip to switch immediately — the list below reloads to show only that trip's items.
The selected trip is remembered across app restarts.
Creating a trip
- Open the Trip Switcher in any of the Pack, Eat, or Shop tabs.
- Tap New Trip.
- Enter a unique name and confirm.
The new trip becomes available in all three tabs straight away.
Renaming a trip
- Open the Trip Switcher.
- Tap the pencil / edit icon next to the trip you want to rename.
- Enter the new name and confirm.
The updated name is reflected everywhere immediately. The default General trip cannot be renamed.
Archiving a trip
When a trip is over you can archive it to remove it from the active list without deleting any data.
- Open the Trip Switcher.
- Tap the pencil icon next to the trip to open the edit screen.
- Tap Archive Trip.
- Confirm the action.
Archived trips no longer appear in the switcher. Their Pack, Eat, and Shop items are still stored in the database and will be included in backups. The default General trip cannot be archived.
Unarchiving a trip
If you want to restore an archived trip:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Unarchive Trips.
- Tap Unarchive next to the trip you want to restore.
How items are scoped
Every item added in Pack, Eat, or Shop is tagged with the trip that was active when it was created. Switching trips filters each list to show only that trip's items, so lists from different trips never mix.
Items linked between Pack and Shop (the Needs purchase flow) also inherit the current trip — the linked Shop item is created in the same trip as the Pack item that triggered it.
